This is a forum for discussion of PCT among scientists and other researchers, clinicians and other practitioners, and students. Participants are expected to participate in collective control of ordinary standards of professionalism and courtesy. (See the Guidelines.) Individuals’ control of perceptual variables sometimes can result in ways of saying things that violate these standards. There are many examples of this in the CSGnet archive. By design, the Discourse forum environment is less subject to ‘dyscommunication’ than an email environment. When it does occur it may be redirected here.
