Yes. One of the two useful tricks that my wife and I actually actually
discovered (the other was the rule that whoever says `me first' first
is last) was that if you establish a routine of the form
<story, bed> (any enjoyed activity will do in the first position)
they will accept a `bedtime-story' suggestion (because that's nice)
and then trot off to bed (because that's what happens next).
Of course if they have some serious reason for not wanting to
go to bed (like it's wet and they don't want you to know this),
this might not work, but usually they don't, and it does.
