Ok, it's time to change the current name of our group on UseNet. We are
currently known as bit.listserv.csg-l, which tells people zip about what we
are about. Some months ago I asked for comments about some suggested names I
posted. The most popular name -- and the one preferred by Bill Powers and Tom
Bourbon (who have veto power on the PCT executive council) -- was:
sci.behavior-purposive
I want to change the UseNet name to this ASAP but I lost the instructions on
how to do it. Now that Gary Cziko's evolution book is in press, perhaps he
would take this ball and run with it. How about it Gary? Can you get this
name change done -- or do I have to take time away from writing MY book;-)
By the way. There seem to be problems with out UseNet connection. I don't
think ANY of Bill Powers posts of the last few days have shown up at all, for
example.
Best
Rick

Sounds fine with me. I will check into this and see if it is possible. I
am not sure if a group with an automatic link from Internet to Usenet (like
we have) can have a sci prefix.

Some Bill Powers's posts are there, but I can't find all of them and don't
know why. I'll see what I can do. Bill do you remember what the problem
was originally when none of your posts showed up on
bit.listserv.csg-l?--Gary
