Looks like you Canadians are ganging up on us. Right now there is a
fairly strong committment for an East Coast CSG meeting in 1997 (Chapel
Hill, NC), but as far as Mary and I are concerned, your proposed meeting
in Vancouver would be fine for 1998. There's only one catch: one or all
of you have to organize it and manage it. Mary can give lots of help in
thinking of all the things you have to do, but you have to do it: she
can't manage it from here (except for handling registrations and
finances, unless you want to manage that, too). I suggest forming a
Canadian Committee (Martin Taylor and others in Canada might want to
help, too) and getting in touch with Mary directly. Now is not too soon
to start thinking about it.Actually, the physical attractions of the location are secondary. These
meetings tend to get pretty intense and there's not a lot of time for
sight-seeing unless you come early or leave late. However, if you bring
friends or spouses who aren't into the meeting itself, location can be a
big factor. Anyway, I like Vancouver, so that settles that. Right,
peons?

I'm willing to be part of an organizing group. Perhaps we can assemble a
Pacific Peons Potpourri with Seattle, Portland, Vancouver & Victoria reps.
I would also hope that there would be some support for a conference that
tried to get some exposure to the uncommitted and unwashed while seeking a
mass conversion ceremony at B.C. Place Stadium.
I had hoped to attend this summer's event but a nephew's wedding at Vale a
few weeks earlier changed all that. I hope to make next year's, especially
if its in my birthplace, New York. So, are there other interested peons
in the region?
