commitments

I have been inactive on CSG-L for a number of months. It would be unfair
to say that this was for lack of sufficient interest, although in a sense
that is true. I think it's fairer to say that I control a number of
other perceptions with higher gain, such as the perception of my being
gainfully employed.

But that would be an incomplete account. I also became inactive because
I recognized that I have nothing to contribute but speculative theory
building until I am in a position to test for controlled variables and to
model the control of those variables. So that is an aim. That is, I am
controlling the perception of myself being in such a position, and
although my control of this perception is very poor at present I expect
it to improve with practice and persistence.

The openness of CSG-L as an email forum has the advantage of exposing
more people to the theory. It has the disadvantage of distracting you
experts from research into coaching us newcomers over the conceptual
hurdles. The reiteration of basic principles, however brilliantly and
effectively rearticulated, becomes less and less important to witness.
Reminds me of a story:

The Zen master D___ was walking with some disciples across a small
bridge. "Master," asked one, "how deep is this river?" The master
    turned and pushed him in.

May the river always be found conveniently nearby.
