Hi, Bill and Mary.
Sorry I won't be able to attend the CSG Conference in Durango this year.
I'll be in the middle of two summer courses about that time. I'm also
finding the transportation costs pretty expensive just now.
The good news is that I've been accepted to the doctoral program in
Counseling Psychology here at the University of North Dakota. Also,
Karen has been accepted for the M.S.W. program here as well. So it
looks like we'll be around the Grand Forks area for the next 3-4 years
at any rate.
By the way, something I never posted:
Bill Powers (950314.0815 MST)
So I am open to suggestions for what we should call X [i.e."control"].
It should be a word that would never be used in place of influence or
determine. It should be a word that has not been pre-empted by engineers
or psychologists or philosophers to mean something other than X. And it
should be a simple familiar word, not jargon.
What came to mind for me was correct + rectify = "correctify" (one or two
r's would probably be acceptible). I may generate my behavior, but I
correctify my perceptions.
Best to you both.
Erling
