Controlling in imagination

In view of the recurring question as to whether conrol in
imagination can be successful when the acions are in the real world, I
thought the attached book review from the current issue of Nature
might be of some interest (to Rick, at least, and maybe to others). I

Two years ago the journalist
Ron Suskind offered a disturbing insight into the presidency of George
W. Bush. In an article in The New York Times Magazine on 17
October 2004, Suskind quoted a senior White House adviser mocking
journalists and others in the “realitybased community” who believe
that “solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible
reality”. The adviser added: “That’s not the way the world
really works anymore. We’re an empire now, and when we act, we
create our own reality.”
