As a result of my forays on other lists, I have learned more about
listservers. I have suggested "set csg-l digest" as an
introductory command (followed by "query csg-l" to get
confirmation. I have "set (list) digest" on all the other lists I
am now subscribing to, and get once-a-day posts from each.
I am now spending time preparing for income-producing activity,
translating computer program texts into Swedish, while continuing
to promote PCT and my seminars. I am happy to have brought Paul
George and a few others to CSG-L, but don't have much time to join
the fray.
Yesterday, I resorted "set csg-l digest" myself for the first time.
This morning it came, and I see that our listserver works just the
same as the others (we have LISTSERV version 1.8a, like some of
them). Posts headers show time, sender and subject.
I can't recall that this has ever been mentioned on CSG-L, so I
hereby recommend it to those readers who do not need instant
transmission of posts, but would appreciate downloading one post
per day instead of 5-20.
When anyone recommends CSG-L to others, I suggest that you
recommend:

Most posts are nicely date stamped. One logical nitpick:

This datestamp shows that the post is FROM Tom. It is NOT "From"
Bill Powers. Many netters delete the no longer valid "From" in
references to past postings, but not consistently, and not all do
it. As I said -- nitpick. Perhaps the original "From" is
overkill? What if we all just forget it? (As I did above). Any
thoughts?
