Sorry to hear of its demise. Are there still plans for
a PCT journal, or at least occasional papers?
I have no plans to do anything on printed media for CSG, but beginning in
1995 I am intending to make better use of the Internet, possibly involving
electronic publishing of PCT stuff, perhaps with Greg's or other PCTers'
assistance. This would make use of the Wide-World Web (WWW) which allows
for multimedia hypertext including text, sounds, images, even video clips.
Those who you who have already browsed the WWW using software such as
Mosaic (developed right here at the Univeristy of Illinois) know what is
possible. Take a look at the "homepage" of the Project Cybernetica (of
which Cliff Joslyn is a major architect) to get an idea of what WWW can do
for PCT and CSGnet. The URL is http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/
For those of you who don't have fancy high-speed connections to the
Internet, you may still be able to access text resources on WWW using a
program on many mainframe computers called Lynx. Ask your local computer
center gurus for more on accessing WWW.--Gary
