After being on the net off and on for over a year, it is time to get serious about understanding PCT. I have most of the books from Gravel Switch, lots of closed loops, and have just ordered the 2nd to last copy of B:CP. I have sniffed a lot but haven't understood as much as I intend, but I am really looking forward to trying out the demodisk that Dag has put together.
Currently, I am teaching English as a Second Language part-time and the other part of the time I am working on my Masters of Adult Education. This is a self-directed distance education program, so naturally my focus is PCT.
I won't bother to mention that I am Reality Therapy certified (who cares?)
I am a little hesitant about asking questions where I could really dig out the answer in time by myself but I will take up Rick's invitation from early January and ask a few.
Questions:
1. Rick. Are you still planning on writing a book on PCT directed at the layperson?
2. Any guesses about when an understanding of PCT will affect the development of robotics and A.I.
3. Is anyone out there familiar with Habermas's Theory of Communicative Action and does " language mediates experience" have parallels with "B:CP"? Just asking, I not not attached to nor do I understand much of Habermas' writing but he is another one of those guys with a following that may have something useful to say.
4. Terminology: Is there a consensus on the following?
action - behaviour when the purpose is not explicit
controlling for - does this imply learning/reorganiztion or slow control?
I guess this is enough for a start. I can't wait to read Rick's reveiw of Glasser's latest.
Cheers,
