Dick,
An addendum. By coincidence I received a note from a friend regarding Seven Generations Ahead (SGA), a group dedicated to spreading the word about Sustainable Generations.

When I was doing some of the research on the last post, I stumbled into several sites from the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Conferderation) regarding how their chief executives must make decisions: with the next seven generations ahead in mind.

In other words, sustainability is the opposite of the short-term bottom line capitalist bean counter ethics. Rather, leaders of the Haudenosaunee have to think seven generations ahead, and then the next generation of leaders will have to think seven generations ahead, etc., thus constraining decisions to mainly sustainable ones. In other words for them, there is no eschatology in their conception of the world:

This is a very PCT idea that even Clark McPhail and Kent McClelland might endorse: That we should *align our perceptions* at the principle level for sustainable living, and be aligned even at the system image level (as does the Haudenosaunee) in being good people, acting for the next 7 generations.
Now if that isn't a vision for a Good Corporate Citizen...!
Best,
