First, this is not a democracy but rather a republic. Majority rule is
not supposed to be the case for this country and for (as the founders saw
it anyway) very good reasons bases upon historical information concerning
forms of government.
It is plainly obvious to me however, that these issues are due to
differences in perception concerning both the causes and solutions (and
no doubt in some areas the magnitude) for the problems.
