Bruce Abbott (950912.1240 EST) --
In reviewing CHOICE cards to select new books to add to our campus
library's holdings, I encountered two titles I thought might be of
interest to CSG.
Believe me, if there people were even moderately close to understanding
behavior as control they would have discovered PCT by now. And they would be
worshipping Powers in true PCT fashion: by trying, like mad, to prove that
PCT is wrong.
On that note: I liked what I said earlier so much that I thought I would
repeat it with one little improvement (in caps)
The greatest respect you can show for another person's ideas is to try, like
mad, to show, via experimental test, that those ideas are wrong. The greatest
disrespect you can show for a person's ideas is to try to show, by argument
and reasoning, that those ideas are RIGHT. The former approach is the path of
science; the latter is the path of inquisitorial religion.
