If a list of misconceptions and their responses is not published in this paper
or in another, it should at least be available on the net in the manner of
a FAQ (file of answers to Frequently Asked Questions). I would want to have ready
access to it when I write anything drawing on PCT. I'm working on something now
that will probably be a chapter in my dissertation eventually.

I see that Chuck Tucker has made the same suggestion.
I am still pretty awkward in my new mail and editing environment, since our
move. I haven't yet learned how to have ready access to CSG mail received
when I formulate responses.
Joint Paper: I think this is an excellent project and would be glad to
contribute in any way I can. Reading the first draft, I have only a few
observations:
"Counterpressure" is a physical metaphor from the world of forces and
impacts that perhaps distorts what is going on in the world of
control systems.
The discussion of this resistance could be fleshed out with examples
of reviewers' comments, simply as reportage, with the contradictions
and illogicalities speaking for themselves. I think others have
suggested something like this. The examples of resistance could
be part of the resume of the "resistance" theme at the end of the
paper. This expands the present structure of the paper:
Introduction
PCT, new candidate now turning 40
But its apparent strangeness results in resistance
What PCT Says
The Future of PCT
Embellishments on the Basic Model
Much Work and Testing Needed
PCT Must be Judged on its Merits
>Examples of Inappropriate Judgments
Comparative Rejection Stats (as David suggested)
False claims and misconceptions (Rick Marken)
Conclusion (last 3 paragraphs)
Other topics will have to wait.
