......Reading the sequence reminded me of stuff that's
in Kenneth Boulding's _Conflict and Defense_, also
the claims that there has never been a famine in a
democracy, and that two democracies have never gone to
war with each other. Given some work and eventually
we might have a IPCT -- Interpersonal Perceptual
Control Theory. In the near future I may go out to
Durango and see if Bill and I can do a bit towards
EPCT -- Economic Perceptual Control theory.

I like Kenneth Boulding. _The Image_ is very congenial to PCT, as I recall it. I don't know _Conflict and Defense_. I'll look for it. The observations about democracies are most interesting. Are they his? Boulding is a good example of the Quaker scientist, and an estimable poet.
I very much hope you do get to spend some time with Bill on economics.
