PCT incredibility

While contemplating PCT, it struck me that one of the more incredible
claims of PCT is that when, for example, you hold up your fingertip in
a set position in front of your eyes, the muscular force that keeps it
up is actually being caused by slight discrepancies between where
the finger is (perceived to be be), and where it is desired to be.

I've read a fair amount of intro PCT literature without actually
noticing this, but it seems to me to be a basic and rather drarmatic
point that might help people grasp what is distinctive about the
approach, even if they don't actually belive it. And a careful &
explicit experimental proof of its truth might help with the acceptability
problem.
