Thanks for backing me up. Just one thing: the perceptual signal for the
control system you drew would be the signal entering the comparator from
the left. A perceptual signal is not explicit in the inputs to the
perceptual function, whether it be a simple or complex function. The
perception doesn't technically exist until it is represented by a
signal.
If a perceptual function has two inputs, one signal from a dry
thermometer and another from a wet thermometer, it can combine these
inputs according to a formula or a table lookup and output a single
signal representing "relative humidity." The perceptual signal for a
humidity controller would be the output signal from this input function,
not either of the thermometer signals entering the input function.
