Yes, but your description is much to “cognitive.” The fact
that ealiest
experiences (read: perceptions that accompany life support system-
states) tend to become “stamped in” i. e. to accompany major
reorganizations-- was discovered a hundred years ago by the much
and misunderstood Freud.

I wasn’t talking about early experiences, but the experiences we
have in later life, where we are exposed to well-argued points of view
delivered in dramatic or engaging ways by mentors we admire and would like to
imitate, and whose reasoning seems unassailable to us. We perceive
the system concept they offer, think it is the cat’s pajamas, and are then
stuck with it for perhaps the rest of our lives.

But why are we stuck with it, in your opinion–in terms of reorganization?

In other words, once you experience a big AHA concerning system
concepts,> > you can’t undo it again – it’s there for life.

I think reorganization at the highest levels is very slow and becomes
slower.

OK, agreed, but when it does happen what’s to prevent it from happening again? I thought that was the issue you were addressing.

Best,
Dick R.
