first, i would like to comment a thing.
It is confusign to use a heating system as an example of
controlled system.
If it is too hot in a house, and you put the thermostat at 50
It won't necessarily cool the house...
About purpose, I have only a small opinion, It goes more and more
in the same direction than Mr. Blom, I don't think the whole
concept of purpose is necessary at all... What about an
equilibrium concept...
Maybe it his an illusion that an organised system can deploy more
energy than what the disturbance is giving him...
Are we not forgetting the past of that organisation, and all the
past disturbance, example, If the holy people of america can Keep
blasting cruise missille for years without using your tax, and get
rid of all the soul of Irak, woudn't be a perfect example of control
system, put the fact that they stop until the next stage of escalation,
is more of an argument in favor of an equilibrium system
I see If-then every where, I guess I am sick I am sorry...

Correct. It is an example of a _controlling_ system. It controls a perceptual
representation of temperature.

Correct. A control system can have purposes it cannot achieve. One of my
purposes is to have people understand themselves as perceptual control
systems. Need I say more;-)

"Equilibrium" is the current trendy science approach to dealing with purpose
without understanding what purpose is. I think it's topping the charts as the
favorite answer to the question "If it's not purpose, what is it?", taking
over the number one spot from the 19th century's "natural selection".

So If it is so trendy, can you give me recent (last ten years)
reference, article, names...

Of course i am not masochist, even Glasser repudiated PCT, I guess
for the sake of his career. I've talked about this list to some
psychologist friend and coworker, and the reaction is always the
same. "It must be a bunch of weirdo, loosers trying to fit the
world with their theory", I can't help it, I just described the
kind of intervention you or Mr. Leach are enacting, and people
I talk with have the image of the old guy, trying to design a
perpetual mouvement mechanism... You may have a career with PCT
but it is in favor of PCT opponent. Because, every day you
make it regress it into witchhunt..
I truly hope you'l help me with reference about equilibrium system.
