[From Bill Powers (970328.1929 MST)]
Got an SOS from my sister in New Canaan, CT where she runs Benchmark
Publications. She needs some technical writing help quick, so I'm forwarding
this to CSG members, emphasis on East Coast. Here's what she wrote:
Can you help me from your vast network of techheads? I need someone who
wants two-three months work as a tech writer starting about April 15-May 1
(we can tap dance to cover a bit at the front end if the person isn't
available right away). The person should write reasonably well and know
these packages or be able to pick them up by OJT with up to a week in
advance to learn: HTML, RoboHelp, FrameMaker. OR, have used any Help
system generator (like WINHelp) and any page composition package. The
closest to FrameMaker is Quark Express. This job is almost 100% on-site at the client's in Danbury [Connecticut],
with home base here. We'll be hovering around helping and going to
meetings and doing QA on the writer's work before the client sees it. I
need to know ASAP, so please e- me back one way or another!
Her name is Alice McElhone; email address is BenchmkPub@aol.com.
Best,
