Our popserver had a problem for a couple of days. I got messages
that it kept trying to send my posts without success so that when
I finally got through Friday night I found my last three posts had
been delayed enough that they probably seemed off the wall when
they came through. Sorry about that.
Re the discussion of choice, It seemed to me that the "you" being
referred to as making a choice was somewhere outside the hierarchy.
When trying to think in HPCT terms it might help to include the
whole organism starting out right at the top. Speculate what kind
of Self-system is setting references to what principles that are in
turn setting the references to the programs that might be in
conflict. How the choice might get made, then, probably depends
upon the extent to which imagined perceptions at the program level
do or fail to--satisfy the principles involved, and variations in
their outputs do or fail to--reduce the error in the self-system.
There are times when I believe I glimpse some of this in making a
real-life choice. It can go on for a while--while I'm becoming
aware of the "who I am" becoming involved in contemplating the
choice.
