i am confusing how if one accepts the PCT stance one
could say that one was responsible for one's actions.
actually my initial interest in PCT was that it appeared
to leave room for ideas of freedom and responsibility;
however, on second thought (and prodded by a fellow
netter) i have my reservations with that conclusion.
first, control systems control input not output. Output
is determined my the disturbance to a perceptual variable
(i.e. the enviroment, at least to that control system)
while the reference levels are assumed to be genetically
set to control intristic variables. this leaves responsibility
in the doghouse.
any comments?
