Some more vensim questions

To Bill and anyone else who might have the answers

Best, Dick R.

Well, I got the model up and running. Thanks for your detailed instructions.
The side-tutorials in heat physics and calculus were an added bonus for me.
Now I have a couple of questions.

When I finished running the model and closed the graph screen (I think it was
at that point) a dialogue box came up asking if I wanted to save it. At first
I said, "yes," but then when I tried to accept the name suggested for it, I got
another statement that said, "Do you want to overwrite chapter 3?"

This didn't seem like a good idea to me without more knowledge, so I closed
without saving. I gues I will have to install the model all over again when I
want to work through the next steps.

So how do I save without such complications?

Next question -- I did finally get the manual, on my fourth try. If anyone
else is having trouble, maybe you have the same Acrobat Reader screen I do. It
didn't have a "save as" option. The only thing that worked was a "save to
disk" option. So I did get it and can read it in the Acrobat reader program,
and I guess, even prinit it out with a great waste of paper. When I tried to
suck it up with my WordPerfect 6.0a it couldn't get it. If I could have I
could have printed on both sides of the paper. I don't know what txt format
(if that's the right word) the Acrobat reader is in.

Any help on that one?

BTW where you said, in replying to Tim

I think I called them SET buttons by mistake.

I don't think so. I got to the right place using the SEL buttons.

Dick, I should probably let Bill or Rick or someone else answer your
questions.

The thought occurred to me that you probably saved the model in chapter 3
rather than the sample folder. Is this true?

I don't understand the question about the Acrobat Reader, so I better let
someone else answer it. The manuals appear when I press the help button in
my setup.

By the way, when you say that "the model is up and running", I am not sure
which model we are talking about. Maybe I missed something.

Take care.
