[SPAM] Visual attention

[Goldstein (2008.03.13.0615 EDT)]

Gary,

Very interesting. I found myself tuning into the white shirts in order to track the passes, which I got correct.

It was a difficult task.

I missed the moonwalking bear! Poor cyclists!

There is a lot of movement. The people are intermixing. If they were grouped separately and not moving, then maybe I would have seen the bear.

Thanks,

David

This is a very interesting video with, I think, implications for HPCT (and motorists and bicyclists):

Sure I saw the bear the second time I played it, because I was looking for it. I think this relates directly to why established psychologists can’t appreciate HPCT and any other instances of “selective perception.”
