speech perceptions

...it seems to me the controlled perceptions in speech are probably
acoustic.

I thought you were the one who put me onto a small group of articles
dealing with speech output, where subjects' lips or tongues were pulled
on just as they were trying to talk, in order to examine the role of
auditory feedback in articulation. The official term escapes me now but
I think I can resurrect some references if you'd like. I mention them
because they support the above observation.

The idea of habits is interesting from a HPCT point of view because even
routines are subject to disturbances. It must be the unthinking aspect
of habitual behavior that make them seem different, somehow. Maybe we
should speak of habitual perceptions?
