Martin Taylor (940829 15:40) --
Well, you may be hopelessly addicted to information theory but your
political views are music to these ol' parlor pinko, faggot lovin',
gun-haten' ears of mine.
For most of my life (and probably much earlier) there has not been a
politician on the national stage in the USA that would have fit in a
left-of-centre party in the rest of the Western world.
Not only that, but in my short life the political spectrum over here in
the USSA has shifted dramatically to the right (my generation probably
helped things along with all the talk of peace and love; seems to
have scared the shit out of everyone, including my generation). So now
I am in a position of being a fan of a President (Clinton) who is well
to the right of a President (Eisenhower) who I considered a reactionary
when I was a kid.
That, I think, is one reason you now have the situation Tom is riled about:
I agree.
Ah, well. The USA is well accustomed to being correct and alone in its
political thought.
When you've got thousands of nukes that you can point wherever you want,
how can you be wrong?
The decades old and continuing vendetta against Cuba is another
particularly puzzling case in point
Oh, come on. You know that the only good Latin (or any other kind
of) dictator is a fascist;-)
Best
