The three PCT researchers

[From Rick Marken (940808.2120)]

Dick Robertson (940808.2000CDT) --

Me:

Over the last 20 years only three people have been doing PCT
research.

Dick

I object to that statement.

Why? You're certainly one of the three; I was counting Bill P. as
the theoretician;-)

Besides the number of PCT researchers is sort of like the number of
Marx Brothers. You're never really sure exactly how many there
are -- three, four, maybe even five. Actually, now that I
think of it, PCT researchers have a lot more in common with the
Marx Brothers than just their number:-).

I certainly think Bill has been a major PCT researcher besides the
theoretician. Didn't he design the original tracking tasks and their
simulations? I also think that some of Wayne's and David Goldstein's
work qualifies as PCT research, and also Plooij's and Pavlovsky's
as well as the sociological studies. But I'll grant that as far as I
know, only Powers, Marken and Bourbon have confirmed that PCT
modeling accurately corresponds to human performance in those
instances where simulations have been checked out. I sure agree
about the comparison with the Marx Brothers.
Best to all, Dick R.
