Unsolicited commercial email

NETNEWS@AUVM.AMERICAN.EDU is a gateway between certain usenet newsgroups
and associated mailing lists. The gateway passes all posts without
examining the contents. These gateways were established at the request of
or with the permission of the list owners. When a post is made to a
newsgroup gateway'ed to a mailing list, the gateway dutifully does its
job and sends the post to the mailing list.

You should speak to the people who posted the article to the newsgroup
about whether the post was appropriate, and to the list owners of the
list involved about whether you think it should be gatewayed to usenet
newsgroups. In any case, we had nothing to do with the origination of
this post.

I have just received the attached unsolicited commercial email through a
technical mailing list to which it is entirely irrelevant. It was
apparently posted from, through, or on behalf of your site. (american.edu:
earliest Received: line. tir.com: NNTP-Posting-Host points to
ann06.tir.com. usa.net: site of apparent sender. breathe.com: beneficiary
of ad.) Please take appropriate steps with your users to prevent a
repetition.
