I have just reacquainted myself with my video editing equipment.
(Ed Fords two education master tapes -- four hours excerpted from the
conference -- are finished and will be mailed tomorrow).
I found that the synchro function I plan to use to insert labels on people
did not work, so today I turned in the VCR as well as the camcorder for
annual maintenance under my service contract.
I'll get the equipment back in two weeks, and will start work on the
conference videos then.
The price will be the same as last year: $35 including freight for three
long-playing video tapes. Just send money.
Bob Clark: 1993 video tapes will be mailed to you tomorrow. I had a set
prepared for you.
Rich Thurman: Following up on your loose talk at the conference -- Are you in
fact able to convert conference video tapes between PAL -- the system used in
Britain and most of Europe but not France (Viva la difference) -- and NTSC --
used in the Americas and part of Asia. Specifically, how about converting a
set of US conference tapes 1993? 1994? for Marcos? I am willing to loan you
my master tapes in order to get the least possible amount of distortion on a
European master set. How about converting a set of Marcos 1994 conference
tapes for me for distribution to US CSG and Greg Williams, the CSG archive?
Marcos: If this can work, are you interested in an exchange? What kind of
tapes could you send Rich Thurman? Can you - would you want to - make
converted US conference tapes available to fellow PAL watchers in Europe?
Meanwhile, I am translating computerprogram help texts into Swedish and am
coming up to speed. If nothing else, I am becoming a faster typist in the
bargain.
