where are the students?

throughout the course of this forum, and before, there have
been concerns by those who feel that the study of
living controls systems deserves considerable merit that
this has not come to academic fruition.
being batted back and forth are questions of bridge-burning/
building, comparisons, who to present to, how to present,
the respectable format of presentation, basic research, modeling,
..............and on. i feel one last item on this list should be
added, namely, where the hell are the graduate students.
it is a truism that PCT has been considerably neglected.it
is a more glaring truism that without students you'll take your
ideas to the grave. this is a problem of such proportions that it
cannot be underestimated. there needs to be concerted effort to
produce students who have learned the tools of the trade. who is
going to teach them. why that's you. instead of devoting all this time
reading this net why don't you get off your $%#^$ and get some students
and start "testing till the break of dawn". i'm completely
serious. this can be one big deal. a deal of magnaminous proportions.
but its not going to anything but a bunch of dead people jerking each other
unless we get the tradition rolling.

i.
i hope to see everone in durango and enjoy the "spirits" with
all the students i anticipate will be arriving.
