Is there anyone out there reading this list who actually wants to
study (rather than just talk about) perceptual control?
In light of the flurry of interest in Rick's query-10 posts in 2 days, I
am emboldened to ask, Is any one interested, at all ,in studying
Behavioral Control Theory.?

Dear John,
I would be interested in an audio or video tape of one of your sessions.
My favorite psychotherapist, Dr. Alvin Mahrer, has persuaded me that this is
really the best way to understand how a therapist works.
The idea would be to figure out how to be Dr. John Appel with patients as
the means of understanding his method of doing therapy.
In that, I live very close to you, an alternative would be to observe one of
your sessions.
I can't really say that I have a good sense of how you do therapy. It is so
hard to communicate this in a format like the CSGnet list. I also think that
there is a disconnect between what we say and what we really do in therapy.
In any case, whether you stay on CSGnet list or not, I would like to thank
you for taking the time to participate.
Best regards,
David M. Goldstein
