I would like to echo Greg Williams request of today and ask for an update
on this exchange. I have read all of these comments and have some difficulty
believing that this is not the same old (and very tiring to me) dispute
about "boss reality." If all that is being stated here is that what is
"outside" the organism CANNOT be replicated "inside" that organism then I
see no reason for any of the formulas and numbers and computations; this
is either an assumption or a warranted assertion. All of this stuff with
models and the like is rhetoric (fun rhetoric I am sure you would say but
still rhetoric). Please note I am not demeaning anyone's work here; I am
just trying to see what the problem is and what can be said about it that
might be useful to me who is concerned with living systems. I would also
appreciate NOT being told that I am too ignorant to understand.
