Wolfgang Zocher (930503):
It was nice to get to hear from the person responsible for SIMCON. I have
already used this program in one of my classes to show how control systems
work (and I am eagerly awaiting the new version that will label plots with
variable names--I can't easily project color in class).
I was also very pleased to learn that you encountered PCT via CSGnet.
However, you said that:
Accidently reading some articles of the CSG - mailing list, I came in touch
with PCT. I bought Bill's book and after reading it carefully, I immediatly
knew, that all my experiences of life and all my experiences of therapeutic
work are represented in Bill's Perceptual Control Theory:the behaviour of living beings is controlled by perception.
Shouldn't that last phrase rather be: "the behavior of living things
controls perception"?
I am hoping that your statement might be a German-English translation slip.
How could the developer of SIMCON believe that for living organisms
construed as control systems it is perception that controls behavior?--Gary
