Alice (computer software)

[Gary Cziko 2008.07.25 14:12 EDT]

Randy Pausch just died, and in reading this article from the N.Y. Times

I checked out the computer software he created, Alice to teach computer programming.

Based on Java and designed to allow students to animate figures and tell stories, I wonder if this might be an environment for making PCT computer modelling more accessible to more people.

Perhaps Bill or Rick or Bruce could take a look and let us know what they think.

So, I'd like to read Gary Cziko's post re. Alice, but what comes through is an unreadable encoded message. Is this because I am subscribed to CSGnet via Yahoo mail? Do other subscribers have this same problem, who use conventional mail software?
