I noted with interest Stefan Balke's diagram. The problem I have with it is
that output go directly to inputs rather than to the situation, and that
inputs are from the outputs rather than from the situation. I have used the
attached diagram in my own research writing. The application is that
person's self-concepts (identities) are perceptual control systems. The
situation is perceived and altered by each participant in the interaction
(as well as other factors, disturbances, not included in the present
diagram).
