Chapman

I'm not not sure what possessed me to mention Chapman, but I would like to
point out that the glib-seeming quote was from a discussion of a rather
substantial programming project where he expected to spend a lot of time
writing decision-makers & found that most of the work was instead spent
on perceptual functions. And I agree that much of what the Chapman-Agre
people write seems rather obscure to us, but people often claim to find
PCT hard to understand too - any reasonably short and crisp statement will
seem obscure to people without the right background. For example, the
PCT maxim that what is controlled is what is perceived seems obviously
crazy to people who assume that perception implies consciousness
(since people can control things without being conscious of them).

Well, so long from me to the end of January ...
