Perhaps as a sociologist you know something about another
disturbing subject I heard about this morning on news television. It was
reported that young men in their early twenties are the principal
customers of a new genre of torture movies coming out of Hollywood. Is
there anything to this? I was horrified to learn that there are twisted
people in our own government who think torture is an acceptable way of
dealing with prisoners, and now it seems that there is backing among
young people for this return to the Dark Ages. Please tell me that I am
just an old man fretting about rumors.
