CSG Website URL

[From Rick Marken (981112.1300)]

Martin Taylor (981112.1015)--

Could we have a quick decision about the URL of the "new"
site, please.

Chris Cherpas (981112.0930 PT)

If retaining uiuc is a possibility, one of the pros for keeping
it would seem to be the legacy issue. But, even if the new CGSnet
doesn't physically reside on uiuc, perhaps the old address can
be maintained to simply point/link to the new one to preserve
continuity.

My current plan is to keep the URL for the CSG web site as:
http://www.ed.uiuc.edu/csg/

If I run into problems and have to move the CSG site to a new
URL then I will, indeed, make the current URL point to the new
one.

I don't think you will see any changes to the CSG Web site for
a couple weeks. I have already received some helpful e-mails
about recent work that should be added to the CSG web site.
I think I will periodically (monthly?) post requests for
updates, news, etc at the website and via e-mail to CSG list.

I would like to thank Christine Forssell for appointing me web-
master (do I get an intern?;-)) I would also like to thank Gary
Cziko for transfering his powers (with the exception of the
god-like ones) to me.

By the way, how about a big round of applause for Gary Cziko
who single-handedly brought PCT into cyberspace, first in the
form of the CSGNet mailing list and then in the form of the
CSG Web site. This is really the right medium for a small
group of scientific revolutionaries who are spread out all
over the world. Gary is the one who made it happen. Bravo!

Best

Rick
