CSGNet Digest & Garbage

[From Fred Nickols (2005.10.31.1430 EST)] -

I recently shifted to the CSG digest mode and the copies I receive are full
of garbage. They seem to be plain text messages followed by the html
version. Is there a digest setting I need to change?

No, but there's a mail setting that several people on this list need to change. Bjorn Simonsen is posting Word documents, and several people are posting HTML documents. Plain text is best for mailing lists. Could folks please check the settings in their mail programs?

It is OK for me to use Plain text. But Martin could not read my texts (Mac?)
a year ago . We tried different formats and I think he was most satisfiefed
with Word, Times New Roman 14 pt.
It is a problem with graphs on the page when we use Plain Text. Then we have
to use enclosed files.

This text is plain text and I believe it is still Times New Roman 14 pt.

Till then I will use Plain Text.

Bjorn

Plain text would be just fine, I think. At the moment, your messages come out wth tiny font, but not so tiny as to be unreadable. This one is the exception. It's normal to me.

Nothing wrong with using attachments.

For me, it comes out looking just fine. I think plain text is treated by the recipient as whatever is its own plain text font. If you keep it like this, I'd be very happy. However, if you do want to embed images into a message, by all means do whatever you have been doing recently. As I said, it's small, but quite legible.

Does anyone know how to send plain text from AOL? It seems I can only set to a font style and size which of course is HTML.

My posts seem fine in the archives. Fred, did my grook come in as garbage yesterday?

Marc
