We already have. A person who controls a sequence in my
"Hierarchy of Perception and Control" demo
(http://home.earthlink.net/~rmarken/ControlDemo/HP.html)
is doing so without "cued chaining". The button press that
restores the sequence to the reference state is not part of
a cued chain because there is no chain.

For 2 days now I've been trying to get to see that demo, but after a
long time of trying to contact (Well, like 5+") I give up. Do you know
what the problem is?

While I'm at it, did anyone else see the Tues night 60 Minutes about the
D'Amasios studies of the weired behaviors found in people with very
selective brain injuries? They had a metaphor for distributed memory of
a supermarket with stacks products all in their own niches on the
shelf. It was a good visualization experience for me to imagine
CATEGORY level control systems.

Also, it got me thinking that I can imagine controlling the sequence for
(say) typing a word, like "word" as lining up the four letter categories
and selecting one of each (like selecting one box of wheaties, etc) from
the queue on the shelf?): a "w" then an "o", etc. you get the idea.

Also I don't think that B. Abbott is right that I have to perceive each
letter in the sequence before executing the next step in the sequence.
If I did I would never make mistakes in typing, something I frequently
do because of outrunning my finger-movement control sequencing (?).
