Today is Dag’s 70th birthday, believe it or not. Happy birthday to

Best, Bill P.Many thanks!
I am a very happy man today. Our entire SF Bay area family plus a few
close friends gather in a few hours. Christine and I have been fixing
details around the house for a few days and my gourmet cook wife (that
same Christine) has prepared a very nice dinner.
Fred, [From Fred Nickols (2010.10.02.1230 EDT)], thanks, I do look
forward to many more. Christine has preserved me well. All systems are
go.
A birthday present showed up yesterday, UPS next day air from LaVergne
Tennessee, home of Lightning Source. The proof copy of the completed,
renamed
Dialogue Concerning the
Two Chief Approaches
to a Science of Life
Word Pictures and Correlations
versus Working Models
arrived. I reviewed it, approved it, and ordered a supply. Anyone can
preview the front end, six letters and the back end here:

I will appreciate pointers to any flaws and will enter corrections before
I make the final book available. For instance, I just noted that where
Bruce Nevin wrote “Three dangerous words” it should read
Three “Dangerous” Words, italics.
People who have provided comments for my consideration should find a
Galley Proof in the mail in little more than two weeks. I’ll email each
one next week. Bill has not provided a comment, but gets one anyway.
I shall now contact selected media for reviews and such. Also some
organizations and think tanks that might understand an explanation when
one is offered. Suggestions welcome. I will seek advice from other
publishers.
I will hold off making the book available at Amazon and any other
Internet bookstore around the world until reviewers have had an
opportunity to do their thing. That means that I am the only one who can
order the book from the printer until I submit it to the Ingram catalog.
I expect to price it the same as the current price of People as Living
Things, i.e. USD 59.95. I note that Amazon discounts from there.
If some CSGnetter is anxious to get an Advace copy, Galley proof, before
the volume gets published on January 1, I will take a check or PayPal
payment of USD 50.- and will mail the book anywhere. My address below. My
PayPal account is dag@forssell.com.
Best to all,
Dag

Hi, Dag --
Happy Birthday again.
I've been reading through the materials you linked us to, and am even more staggered by your efforts than before. And brought to tears by some of the remarks about my work.
You have made a place for yourself in history just as firm as you say mine is.
Much love to you and Christine,
Bill
