Economic Test Bed (Private)

Bill,

I just read, and had to comment on BP's response to you on CSGnet.

He's a jerk. Your _entire_ post went right over his head.

Good luck in trying to work with this guy. _PLEASE_, do not set yourself up
to fail with this guy. _YOUR_ life's work is just as important, and
certainly to you, more important than _anything_ Bill might be able to
provide you with.
Don't ever forget, he has an agenda. A big one, and you would be wise to
spell out what _HE_ wants and expects.

When things start getting tight he never, ever, looks at himself as a cause
of his own problems, he's always trying to dish it out to someone else. Be
prepared. He has established a pattern over 30 years that is pretty
consistent.

Your buddy,

Darth

Marc,

Promise me that you won't let me forget this! Not that I'm likely to, but
just in case.

Marc,

Your post really blasted Bill. However, he excuses himself on the grounds that his behavior amounts in effect to the American way.

When I started reading the email traffic on the CSGnet I was initially a bit puzzled by Bruce Gregory's postings. But, now I am getting the idea that there is something so ambiguous in Bill Powers' character that it may attract the sort of irony which people identify with Bruce Gregory.

I don't wish to sop up your time, but I welcome comments,

Your buddy

Bill,

Am I going crazy?

I just read your response to Bill on CSGnet. Why did you give him such a
pass? Were you really concerned about Bill making fun of people who actually
might have mental illness?

I can't believe that was your intent. I can't believe I misread you like
that.

Please tell me that your response on CSGnet was to stay away from any
possibility that you were somehow connected to me (and anything I might say)
so Bill would not possibly 'turn' on you.

Your post really blasted Bill.

Blasted him? How? By stating the obvious? Did I lie and make something up?
Did I distort something? I hope I made him _real_ uncomfortable. I hope he
thinks about what I said. But I'm not delusional. He will in all likelyhood
view it as another attack upon his person by someone who is out to get him
and simply brush it off, and that is to bad. For everyone.

Am I the only one who see's this? Am I the only one willing to tell him? Why
is everyone so accepting of this outlandish behavior?

I was trying to make a point. Something he might actually consider, because
_that_ (his insistence on attacking character, instead of ideas) is, I
believe, the main reason PCT is where it is. Or I should more accurately say
the reason PCT is _NOT_ where it should or needs to be. Bill simply can't
work with others for any extended period of time. Just take a look at his
track record. Whatever happened to his 2 partners? I don't want to tell you,
but it had _all_ to do with Bill being incapable of seperating ones idea's
from ones personality

However, he excuses himself on the grounds that his behavior amounts in

effect to the American way.

Huh? What unadulterated BS

When I started reading the email traffic on the CSGnet I was initially a

bit puzzled by Bruce Gregory's postings. >But, now I am getting the idea

I _LOVE_ Bruce G. and yes, he might, at times, be a bit cryptic and/or
sarcastic, but he is no phoney and he has been on CSGnet long enough for all
the regulars to know _exactly_ who he is. It really doesn't take much to
clarify with Bruce. He is extremely sincere and has been a _huge_ help to me
over the years. I owe Bruce _BIG TIME_. More than he will ever know. I'm
really looking forward to developing, I hope, a good relationship with you.
I think we are off to a real good start and I'm anxious to get your take on
some of my speculations. I think I might be able to help you more than you
currently realize. Yes, I'm mainly interested in the physiological, and
biological underpinnings of regulation (control) But a central issue to all
this is _why_ do people do what they do? That is the question I am striving
to answer. Control is _part_ of the answer and tells us _how_ we do _some_
of things we do.
If HPCT represents the 'physics'of human behavior, I'm interested in the
'chemistry' of human behavior.

I don't believe Bill Powers' character is ambiguous. I think Bill is
two-faced, and has some _major_ issues that date to his dad, as you pointed
out yesterday. He walks around with a huge and obvious chip on his shoulder.

I don't wish to sop up your time, but I welcome comments,

Please, you are a comforting respite from my studying and the current lack
of response to my posts on CSGnet. Your comments and posts have been pure
delights, both privately and on CSGnet.
