European PCT video lending library

This is something I should have got round to doing a year ago. My
apologies for the delay. At the European meeting in Burgdorf last year,
Dag Forssell gave me a complete set of video tapes in PAL format (with
one exception noted below) for the various CSG meetings he has recorded
over the years. These are available on loan to anyone in Europe. I'll
pay the postage to send it to the borrower, who should pay the postage
to return it to me. Please return tapes within a reasonable time, say,
six weeks.

Dag, are people allowed to make their own copies of these tapes?
If so, I would ask that people making a copy return the original to me
and keep their own copy.

Here is the current collection:

Yes, I have never marked any of the CSG conference tapes with any copyright
designation. I suppose as the videographer I could, but I don't think of
myself as owning the content. I don't mind if you and others copy the ones
I did produce and claim copyright for -- rubber band, PCT supports TQM,

Here is the current collection:

Boston, July 2000 (3 tapes) (NTSC format)

How did that happen? Are they marked PAL but in fact NTSC? I know you can
play them back. Just feed the signal to a PAL VCR instead of to your TV.
I won't be able to access my videos or make more PAL copies for some time.

Best, Dag

Those are tapes I bought myself, before you gave me the collection at
Burgdorf, which is why you didn't include a copy then. As I have a dual
standard VCR (PAL and NTSC) I ordered NTSC so as to cut out one level of
signal processing.

I have a second PAL-only VCR -- I'll see whether a tape-to-tape copy will
make a good enough PAL copy.
