Extra space between paragraphs replied to

[From Bruce Abbott (2014.02.01.1730 EST)]

When I send posts to CSGnet, I use one space between paragraphs. However, I’ve noticed that when my posts are replied to, there are usually two spaces between the paragraphs that were copied from my post. I’m using MS Outlook 2007 on a PC. Does anyone know why this is happening? The extra spaces don’t appear in my messages as I write and do not appear in the messages when they arrive in the “sent” folder after sending; are the extra spaces something that is being created in the recipient’s email program, or is my Outlook generating an extra space between each paragraph but suppressing it for the view I get? If the problem is at this end, what can be done to eliminate it?

That's exactly the opposite of my experience. When I see replies to

my messages, one space is subtracted between paragraphs (down to
zero). So I leave two space when I write, in order that the
responses will have a space between my parts and the other’s.
