first part of a PCT bibliography

This link lets you view and copy from a PCT bibliography in progress. This is intended to be a shared resource for copying and pasting to make it easier for any of us to build a reference list for something that we are writing.

There are some obvious limitations and caveats.

  • It is presently no more than a redaction of Greg Williams’ 1994 bibliography published in Closed Loop 4.3 as reformatted, repaired, and somewhat supplemented by Dag. Consequently, the most recent item is dated 1996. Obviously, a great deal more needs to be added.
  • I included only published items, except that I did not include limited-circulation publications like Continuing the Conversation: A newsletter on the ideas of Gregory Bateson, or newsletters of the CSG or its predecessors, or any of the numerous theses and dissertations. Someone can add them if we so decide, but preferably only if we can provide a DOI or URL.
  • On the other hand, we might prefer to remove some items that are relevant to PCT only because they have been subject of PCT rebuttals.
  • I did not change the UPPERCASE NAMES AND TITLES convention, but I will not follow that convention as I add more items in future. This inconsistency I hope is not a big deal for anyone. When you copy and paste an entry, you’re going to want edit it anyway to make it conform to the stylesheet for your publication.
If you want to add or fix anything, let me know, and I’ll open it up for editing by others.

No guarantees when I’ll get back to this. But it’s a start. If you have some lists, send them my way.

Do you include book chapters and official but open and web-available

So far only stuff from Greg’s list. No URLs there. To have me add something, the most effective thing would be to send me the citation info.

I’ll be traveling tomorrow and the next day, and busy working with the tribe until my return on 10 April, so I’m unlikely to act on the information right away, but it will be good to have it…
