This statement from the summary of the article is intriguing:

A subject's error in adjusting to changes in speed was lowest when
they led the object slightly with the mouse.

I wonder how they computed this. Did they just plot instantaneous error as a function of the derivative of target movement and position of the mouse relative to the target (object)? I'd appreciate it if you could send the pdf of the article to me (I can't get it because I'm not a subscriber). I'd like to see what happens if I use their measures on a PCT model of tracking that involves no anticipation or prediction.
