Gender Equality for Human Development
Mother Pelican ~ A Journal of Sustainable Human DevelopmentGender equality is essential for integral human development.
Evolution seems to have found specialization and division of labor more essential in the physical world than a mathematical abstraction used to give a rigorous appearance to subjective opinion.
The objective of this special issue on "gender equality for human development" is to provide a snapshot of where we are along the path of overcoming the patriarchal system and attaining gender equality.
Some progress has been made, and there can be no doubt that the process toward gender equality is irreversible.
Except perhaps in Afghanistan if the US gives up. Why make such extreme and obviously indefensible claims.
But it would not be helpful to foster false hopes of reaching the goal in the near future. Hopefully, this issue of *Mother Pelican* can be a source of encouragement for the long journey ahead.
Please forward this notice to friends and colleagues who might be interested. Submission of research papers on sustainable human development is cordially invited.
From your editorial "Indeed, the patriarchal mindset of competition and domination is the main obstacle to sustainable human development and the restoration of harmony between humanity and the human habitat. "
What about the "patriarchal mindset" of cooperation, coordination and teamwork, making the team members around you better, sacrificing personal goals, etc.
What a bunch of pseudo-academic hogwash, reminiscent of "critical theory" journals passing off opinion and advocacy with only references to other opinions as support.
Running a deficit is not sustainable without subsidization, profit is required for sustainable growth and development. Sustainability requires profitability in a dynamic system.
