Good News! (No, this is not a virus, it's worse!)

[From Bruce Abbott (980408.1915 EST)]

Rick Marken (980408.0900) to Bruce Gregory --

Oy vey. You do suffer from Bruce Abbott disease;-)

Yes, I'm afraid he does. The disease is characterized by a peculiar
inability on the part of the afflicted person to shut off thought when it
leads to propositions that may differ from those defended by Rick Marken,
Bill Powers, and others of the PCT "inner circle." The symptoms are
diametrically opposite to those of sycophantitus, a brain inflammation
otherwise known as Rick Marken's disease. (;->

Tragically afflicted,

Bruce

Actually, the disease is characterized by the astonishing
_ability_ to see control of perception as nothing but
reinforcement, natural selection, perception calling forth
behavior, etc. It used to be called the "nothing but" syndrome
but since you so clearly (and ardently) present all the classic
symptoms I took the liberty of re-naming it in your honor.

Best
