Stefan to Rick:
>What is the intended purpose of the paper [Looking at Behavior trough
Control Theory Glasses] ? Who is the targeted reader?
Rick (2001.08.15)
Actually, my purpose was just to describe the PCT view of behavior. I
think
people can do better research when they see that there really is a
different
way of _looking at_ behavior itself. The target audience is research
psychologists.I'm looking forward to reading your comments, if you have any.
I like the paper and the idea to combine the text with materials (especially
videos and demos) which are available on the internet.
I want to make a more general remark. I think that it could make sense to
inform the reader right from the beginning that the scope of the theory is
much larger than the scope of most other psychological theories. Otherwise
the reader will be astonished about the sudden analogies about animal
behavior, computer simulation, motor behavior, social behavior and internal
conflicts. At least there should/could be some kind of explanation or
description about this enormous range.
Best regards
Stefan
