Martin's diligent gnomes

Hi All,
in a message Martin Taylor 2019.04.14.09.50] (the first [ seems to be missing) Martin wrote about possible gnomes in RR - as a ridiculous possibility. I think I have seen a more detailed story (where some of the gnomes were called by their names etc.) about them from him but I cannot find it now. Does someone know or remember where it is?
